An integrated platform for providing ship management, tourist information and booking services

The growth of e-commerce brings to foreground innovative e-based services, which heavily affect the behaviour of sea travellers. The interested parties of the maritime market (i.e., shipping companies, travel agencies, port authorities, etc.) have to take account of the new scheme and take appropriate actions in order to strengthen their presence in e-market. In this context, the paper discusses an integrated telecommunication platform for providing ship management, tourist information and booking services for sea travellers. The presented platform has been developed in the framework of the EU funded project TELESHIPPING and validated during actual pilot tests.
